MUSE · Lesson 7 of 17

Producing the film

After this you can read the cost sheet, choose how it renders, and get a finished cut.

This lesson is written but not yet recorded. Everything below still applies, so open MUSE and follow along.

  1. 1

Produce quotes before it charges. Every line is listed (video by scene, narration, music, assembly) with the total and a rough render time.

  2. 2

Sequence renders one scene at a time. Hybrid renders independent scenes together: faster, at a surcharge, and only offered when the film's scenes do not open on each other's final frames.

  3. 3

The run narrates itself as it goes. If an engine fails a shot the film pauses and asks rather than silently switching, so you always know which engine rendered what.

Your turn

  1. 1.Open a film with at least one keyframe and press Produce.
  2. 2.Read every line on the cost sheet before confirming.
  3. 3.Pick Sequence or Hybrid, and note what the sheet says the choice costs.
