MUSE · Lesson 6 of 17

The camera panel and the 3D preview

After this you can compose a shot and see it staged in 3D before spending anything.

This lesson is written but not yet recorded. Everything below still applies, so open MUSE and follow along.

  1. 1

The camera panel is a top-down plan of the shot: drag the rig, drag the people, set the lens and the angle. It is the composition, not a description of one.

  2. 2

3D Render stages every scene from that exact camera, with grey stand-ins walking the scene under the real lens. It answers where people go, where the camera is, and whether the move lands in the time available.

  3. 3

It costs processing, never credits. This is the last free look before the paid one, and what you settle on here is what the video engine is told to match.

Your turn

  1. 1.Open a scene's camera panel and drag the rig somewhere new.
  2. 2.Render the 3D preview for that scene and watch the move.
  3. 3.Type a change in the 3D prompt bar, such as 'move him to the window', and re-render.
